Lace: From intimate fashion to ideological panels

The album presents more than two hundred works using lace of the 18th – 21st centuries: from the first samples of metallic lace for a costume of the highest nobility to modern interpretations of bobbin art in the spirit of "gothic chic" and experimental projects of contemporary designers. The album focuses on the lace collection of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, which has almost 12,000 items. Most of the works and archival materials are published for the first time.
