The first volume features works and series selected by the artist, including Projects for a Lonely Man (1975), Sacralizers (1979), Rose Time (1988), and Diary of a Teenager (1986–1988), which are important both within Pivovarov’s practice and for the time when they were made.

The book includes reproductions of the artist's works up to 1996.
