Alice Rawsthorn

Alice Rawsthorn is a design critic and writer. For over a decade, she led a weekly design column for The New York Times and wrote the column “By Design” for Frieze magazine from 2014 to 2017. Rawsthorn is the author of the book Hello World: Where Design Meets Life. She lectures on design at global venues such as TED and the World Economic Forum in Davos. She is chair of the board of trustees at London’s Chisenhale Gallery and The Hepworth Wakefield Gallery in Yorkshire. Rawsthorn contributed to the Writers for Liberty human rights campaign and has been awarded an Order of the British Empire for art and design. She lives and works in London.
